The Elements of Typographic Style by Robert Bringhurst is a MUST read for anyone who deals with type, web or print. There isn’t a single book out there that will give the reader a better understanding of typography.

You should use the newer version of Zeldman's book, instead. The first version is a little obsolete -- it actually praises IE6 for its standards support!

I’m a fan of Trancending CSS by Andy Clarke – a big portion of the book is given over to thinking and planning markup before getting on to the CSS examples. It’s a beautifully designed book too.
